Privacy for young dancers
Version 1.1 · last updated 8 October 2026
If you are under 16
A grown-up who looks after you says yes before your account works.
Your clips go to your grown-up first. They say yes before anyone else sees them.
You cannot message other members on twirlr. You can message your troupe leader, your association, or the person who keeps everyone safe (the safeguarding officer).
If you are under 13
Your clips and your profile only show inside your own association. People in other associations cannot see them.
If you are 13 to 15
Your profile can be seen outside your association only if your parent says yes.
If you are 16 or 17
You or your parent can choose whether your profile can be seen outside your association. It stays inside until one of you turns it on.
For everyone under 18
- twirlr does not watch how long you look at clips to decide what you see. It only uses things you choose to do, like following someone, searching, or tapping Not interested.
- twirlr will not send you notifications to get you to come back. You only hear about real things, like your running order or your results.
- twirlr never uses where you are.
- After every 30 minutes of watching, twirlr asks if you would like a break. You can keep watching.
- There are no ads, ever.
What you can always do
- Tap Not interested on any clip.
- Hide someone’s clips, or block them.
- Report anything that feels wrong. A real person reads it, and nobody finds out it was you.
- Ask for a copy of what twirlr knows about you (Settings, Account, Your data).
For parents
You approve your child’s account and, under 16, every clip before it shows. From 13 you choose whether their profile can be seen outside their association. You can download what twirlr holds about them and ask us to delete it. The full notice is at twirlr.app/privacy. Questions: privacy@twirlr.app.
