Version 1.0 · last updated 4 October 2026
The short version
twirlr is for dancing, and many of the people here are children. Be kind, keep it about dance, and never try to move a conversation somewhere private.
Not allowed
- Swapping contact details or links to other apps. Comments with links, email addresses, phone numbers, handles or certain words are held automatically and not shown.
- Bullying, insults, body shaming or pile-ons.
- Anything sexual, and any comment on a child’s body or appearance.
- Filming or posting someone without their OK, or posting a child who is not yours or in your troupe.
- Dangerous stunts, self-harm, or anything encouraging eating disorders.
- Spam, fake accounts, and buying or trading cheers or follows.
Costumes and kit
Competition costumes are part of the sport. Clips should show dancing, not close-ups. Our team removes clips that focus on a child’s body.
What happens
Depending on how serious it is: the content is removed, the account is warned, posting is paused, or the account is closed. Anything that puts a child at risk is passed to the association’s safeguarding officer and, where the law requires, to the police or the Internet Watch Foundation.
